Description

During the ‘Covid lockdown’ I spent the daily outing along ‘my’ local bit of shoreline. I lingered especially around dawn and dusk where changes occur swiftly. I can access this relatively little used stretch: Castle Cove ledges within the Portland breakwaters. Just to the west of Weymouth Bay. On this particular peaceful evening I watched the lights come on over Bincleaves Groyne. The surface is encrusted with Sandsfoot Grit and clays from the undercliff that slumps towards the shore…always on the move. The light faded into this delicious lilac. At that point I held the colour relationships. Working as I do on location, changes go on and on. But there comes a point at which I chose to remain.
